Quelques petites news de nos activités.

Hey hey hey !

Tout va bien, en plus il commence à faire chaud et beau donc c'est très agréable. Malencontreusement, il se trouve que parfois il est difficile de faire face à ce soleil de plomb :-) On fait pas mal d'excursions et de visites. Nous nous cultivons de façon extrême pour ne pas dire excessive pour se familiariser à cette culture. Avec nos classes, nous avons pu jouir d'une excursion organisée dans un zoo où l'on a pu prendre des photos avec les animaux locaux tout ceci dans un cadre anglophone nous avons envie de dire Of course.

Sinon, Amandine et moi avons fait un weekend à Sydney. C'était super, on a visité une partie de la ville ainsi que l'opéra que nous appelerons House (free event to discover the inside). Pour la soirée du samedi soir, on dormait dans une auberge de jeunesse qui avait organisé un apéro-barbecue sur le toit de l'auberge. C'était super beau et sympa, on avait vu sur la ville de Sydney de nuit et c'était maginifique. Nous avons même pu rencontré des irlandais de Limerick. Nous avons donc pu speaker avec un vrai accent anglophone. Cela nous a fait du bien. On a même eu droit à un feux d'artifice au-dessus de l'opéra et vu du toit c'était top. On a fait ce weekend avec nos acolytes de l'IFAG Lyon.

Avec Amandine, on a aussi fait une randonnée sur la côte et c'était maginfique. Nous avons d'ailleurs appris durant cette marche que les mouches avaient une grande qualité : la tenacité ! On est arrivé sur un petit lagon caché absolument paradisiaque. C'était encore une fois top. Sinon, on a eu vie sociale très active et on rencontre beaucoup d'étrangers notamment ceux de nos classes. On découvre les différences de culture de chacun et c'est vraiment intéressant. Avec les australiens, c'est un peu plus difficile mais on commence à les comprendre et les français ont plutôt bonne réputation du coup cela nous aide.

Au niveau de l'anglais, on commence à sentir les premiers progrès. Bien évidemment, pour nous ce n'est pas assez rapide, nous aimerions forcément déjà parler l'anglais comme le français. Tous les 4 on est vraiment motivés à progresser et je pense que nous sommes sur la bonne voie

Malta

Good morning,

We are writing to tell you how life in Malta is.

In the morning, we have English lesson at University (from Monday to Friday).
Our lesson begin at 9.00 am until 12.30. In the afternoon, there are a lot of activities at University.
We started on the 5^th of October 2009, and we will finish our lesson at University on the 18^th of December.
Then, on the 1^st of February we’ll begin our work placement in a company.
Aurelia could like to do her work placement in the Marketing’s sector, and Melanie in the Management of an International chain.
Our work placement will finish on the 7^th of May 2010.

Every Saturday afternoon, we’ve business lesson with a private teacher.
Our teacher comes in our residence for this lesson from 01.00 pm until 04.00 pm.
We have to build a business plan/project (similar to “Cas Crea”) with her. By the end of January this has to be ready.
Aurelia’s about a European Hotel Restaurant with sustainable materials, and Melanie is working on a hypermarket with automatic cashdesk and scan because in Malta there aren’t any.

We’re staying in”Garden View” in Swieqi. It’s a very nice residence. We’ve made a lot of friends from different countries.
In this residence, there is a pool, a gym, a restaurant, a launderette and we have a self catering flat. We have a bedroom each, a bathroom and a kitchen in our flat.
We aren’t very far from the University, we spend approximately thirty minutes by bus to University.

The weather in Malta is good. Last September and October, it was around 25°C, and in November and December, it’s 15 - 20°C.
Until now, we haven’t seen a lot of rains.

We’re going back to France on the 19^th of December for Christmas and we’ll come back to Malta in the middle of January.

Hi Everyone,

As you know, Manchester is a famous place for football supporters!!

I passed one semester overthere (TWIST) and I've really enjoyed my time. There are much pubs and clubs to have great times with others foreign students.

The city is gorgeous and the University is huge too!!

About the course program, the only 4 classes are really interesting and the main units are Business & Sustainability, Entreprise Perspectives, Entreprising Management and Social Entreprise.

I advise this University to everyone!

Cambridge

Hello all,

I think I'm the first to write on this blog so I tried to be clear...

I studied my first two years in Paris IFAG. My first choice was go to New York for my Gap Year but it wasn't possible for me. So I have chosen Cambridge to improve my English for the TOEIC but also to know another culture.
I have chosen the TWIST program and I am finishing my first semester.
I think Cambridge is a very good place to improve English but also to meet many different nationalities. It's a good thing in the first day because when you speak with another foreign, it's easier to understand and to be understood. Because it's very hard to understand Englishguys when you arrive; they speak very quickly and with their accent.

I think there are only two problems with the university of Cambridge: there are many French and we have few hours of lessons per week. With my modules I gets only 8 hours on three days.

The student life is very nice, there is a big party each week on the campus, there is a big library, many social activity and sport activity and a new gym room on the campus.

I'm very happy of this experience.

Just an advice when you are interesting to do a Gap Year; to take contact with Simon Mitchell of course but also contacted students who are there because we are living your future experience maybe.
